English is widely spoken in southern Spain, so you should find it easy to get by. But it is worth trying to learn a bit if you can, particularly if you’re going to be working here or setting up a business. Luckily, Spanish is a relatively easy language to pick up.
If you want to learn at home before you get here, you’ll find most local colleges or adult education centres run evening classes. Alternatively, you can sign up with a local language school over here. Private lessons aren’t that expensive in Spain either – ask around or look in the classified ads in the local paper or contact us and we will put you in contact with various places.
